A næmd ‘panel’ dealing with witchcraft (ÄVgL), adultery, unatonable crimes, violent robbery, theft, forest fire, arson (YVgL) and an entire quarter’s association with an outlaw (ÖgL). The expression lukt (literally 'closed/locked') fiarþungsnæmd (YVgL Add) probably means that all the nominated men had to be present and their decision unanimous.
