Kiosque, BERR (University of Sheffield and Tribal). Viewing software allowing museum visitors to explore and interact with surrogate manuscripts and associated narrative material forming part of a public exhibition. Narrative driven or by free exploration depending on visitor preference. In use at Musée de l'Armée exhibition in Paris until 4 July 2010. Uses Java and runs as an applet or from a standalone desktop machine. Provides a completely configurable tool for generic use, using XML files to script everything from look-and-feel to content delivered. May 2006 to December 2007. Pegasus, EPSRC (UK) and NSF (USA). Grid-enabled interface using Storage Resource Broker clientware (University of California San Diego) for sharing and displaying in real-time selected virtual reality exhibition materials across partner institutions (museums, galleries or universities), drawing on high-volume, high-resolution digital image datasets held on and managed via a compatible Solaris SUN servers. January 2008 to December 2008. Peter Ainsworth and Michael Meredith.

Virtual Vellum, AHRC, EPSRC, JISC, UK e-Science Initiative. A generic, interactive viewing tool for researchers working with image collections. Facilitates the retrieval and manipulation of high-resolution image datasets comprising many hundreds of images. External viewer for the Online Froissart. June 2006 to November 2006.
