munhaf (OSw) munhav (ODan) munhævthe (ODan) noun

There are only a few occurrences in the laws of a term for oath formulas. OSw munhaf and ODan munhav, munhævthe occur, among other things, concerning land disputes and roping (ODan VSjL and SkL), wounding and levelling oaths (ODan SkL), and illegitimate children and perjury (OSw YVgL). Various oath formulas in the laws typically invoke the Christian God, but in OSw ÄVgL pagan gods collectively.
