THE old quarrel is again begun between Leith
and Edenburgh, and yesterday this inclosed petition
was presented to his Highness Council
here, which received this Answer under written,
or to this effect, and as to that branch of the petition
concerning their false Weights they were this day tryed
in their publike Weigh-house, & the Weights which they kept
here & forced us al to sel our Goods by, are found to be 4, or 5 l.
per hundred heavier then the Standard or weights at Edenburgh,
which they sell by, and the Magistrates are much troubled
