ON Monday night I received your honors
Letter, and at the same time Mr Major
received another from the Council, with
order to proclaim my Lord RICHARD his
late Highness eldest Son, Protector of this
Commonwealth &c. In order to which we
did, what we were able that night, and yesterday
morning, the Magistrates and Common Council
met (at our Councell Chamber) in their scarlet gowns and
robes, and the several Liveries and Companies at the Guildhall
