Part 1

Contents
Two fourteenth-century manuscripts bound together and containing William of Palerne and the South English Legendary (Guddat-Figge 1976, p. 84, Brown 1927, p. xix). The language of William of Palerne is very mixed and 'defies a precise localisation' although it is thought that the two manuscripts were bound together from an early date (Bunt 1985, p. 9).
