Deare freind
from Lubeck you heard last from me; since that time God has brought me hither in safety, for which I blesse his name, wee arriued here at stockholm the 9th. of this Moneth; on the 11th. wee had audience & deliuered our letter to the Queene; now wee are intending some Civil Converse with those that are about her, for shee hath given us as Honorable & favorable a reception as could bee expected from her: yesterday I sent to Mr Rauius & to Dr Ioh. MatthiƦ the bookes wherewith you presented them, & adioyned a letter of mine owne to them because they are not in towne: perhaps they will come hither before wee go from hence; if not it cannot bee helped, except they giue me cause to write further unto them heerafter: Monsieur de Geer is not yet arriued heer out of Holland: at Hamburg & Lubeck the emperours edict concerning the protestants in his heritable Lands, was not to bee hadde; whether here it can bee had I haue not yet enquired thus all your Memorandums I suppose are satisfied except only that concerning the witches of Lapland, & the discourse of Philotheus to Phileretus; wherof as I shall haue leisure I shall not bee unmindfull; whiles wee were at sea last wee were so straitned in roome that there was no conueniencie to put penne to paper about it, nor, was I free to fixe my thoughts that way, wee beeing thronged together, & most times some of the company sicke although the weather was not very ill. I long to heare from you; & how it goeth with all your affaires: how Mr Stirck & his wife (to whom I pray remember my seruice) doth, & whether he doth set upon his oiles yea or no & with what successe? & what vent the oile hath which hee was in hand with when I came away. Mr Boyl whether he bee gone to Ireland or no; & if he bee not gone, desire him to leaue with you the Sciagraphia Artis Vniuersalis which I lent him; which a long while ago I suppose I had from your self. I would know also, what realitie he hath performed towards Mr Stirck. you may tell Mr Worsley if hee bee still with you; that his Aduocate is here extremely well liked, & that I haue imparted it to the Lord Chancelour Oxenstiern who finds it a solid piece; the Queene also spoke of it yesterday unto me; & told me that shee had seene it transcribed into <left margin: the> Swedish tongue; that of the free ports, she had not yet seen; this day I sent it to her secretarie, at her desire, that it may bee imparted unto her.
the adioyned Memorandums you may dispose of as you see cause; the things which relate to State obseruations you will not do amisse to acquaint my Lord Bradshaw & some other of the Grandees with them: if happily wee should returne by land & come by the way of Holland home; I would bee gladde of your suggestions, to meet with them at Hamburg at present nothing doth occurre further, my prayers are daily & shall bee God willing for your welfare in all your wayes to the glory of God in whom I rest
