At my returne hence I found a letter from my Brother, of an ancient date: in which he makes mention of a widowe, on mrs Eldred dwelling in Colemanstreete, whome he conceiues to be a fitte wife for me. for he sayth she is a very religious & good natur'd woman, and hath a good estate; and such as may be the sooner perswaded to come ouer, because she hath bene in Holland alreadie. He writes he had no acquaintance with her; but would sound her disposition by one of his Frinds that had. but I I haue not heard from my Brother since. I pray inquire after this gentlewoman, and if you conceiue her fitte for me; and haue otherwise opportunitie for it; helpe my brother [catchword: to]

to aduance the buisnes, or, if it take not there, where you may ellswhere. for, I feare many good people wilbe fayne to leaue their Countrey in a time of such danger, as the distractions in England seeme to threaten more and more. The Lord in mercie & compassion looke upon the afflictions, and hearken vnto the sighes & praiers of his people To his goodnes I leaue you, [hole in MS]
