1 The grid reference indicates the precincts of the Hospital of St John within which the chapel of St John the Baptist was situated.     
2 The apparent lack of any evidence indicating that there was an individual rector here suggests that this church was probably appropriated to the hospital (of St John the Baptist) and served by a stipendiary chaplain. It is possible, therefore, that it was not listed as taxable because of the appropriation to the hospital rather than because of its low value, though low value also seems very likely.
