Forty-seven works were exhibited, among them: Nikolai Ge, Petr I doprashivaet tsarevicha Alekseia v Petergofe (Peter I Interrogates Tsarevich Alexei at Peterhof); Ivan Kramskoi, Maiskaia noch (May Night), portraits of Mikhail Antokol'skii and Fedor Vasil'ev; Vasilii Perov, Okhotniki na privale (The Hunters Take a Break), portrait of Alexander Ostrovskii; Aleksei Savrasov, Grachi prileteli (The Rooks Have Come); the sculpture by Mark Antokol'skii, Ivan Groznyi (Ivan the Terrible).
