This should be Agen rather than Angoulême. This section is based on the Chronicle of Jean le Bel, who used the peculiar spelling ‘Agolem’ to refer to Agen. It is quite likely, as S. Luce has argued, that this orthography confused Froissart, who must have concluded that Angoulême was meant.
