Numb. 609
Mercurius Politicus
COMPRISING
The sum of Foreign Intelligence, with
the Affairs now on foot in the Three Nations
OF
ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, & IRELAND
For Information of the People.
Published by Order of Parliament.
From Thursday February 23. to Thursday March 1. 1660.
From D[unr], February 26.
Our Friends at D[unr]kirk are all well, only their Quarters are
more narrow then formerly, because the French and Spaniards,
take up the country on either side; The place is exceedingly
well fortified, so that, if any attempt should be thought
of against them, they need not fear approaches of the most
powerful Enemic. We do no hear yet of the proclaiming of
the Peace in any part of Planders, but expect it will be done out of hand;
in the mean while no further restir[unr]tion is made of places. Some design of
action bot[unr] France and pain seem to have against Spring, to be jointly undertaken,
but none can tell where they have laid the Scene, and of late their
forces on both sides have in a manner kept themselves in a Body, or so contracted
their Quarters, that either of the Armies can i[unr]body at a short warning.
