HEre is no great Matter of Newes since the
apprehending of those Officers whose
Names were lately sent you; but all is quietness;
and our greatest Enemies would
fain now be at quiet. The capitulation for
the Earl of Seafort and his dependant is
now completed and confirmed, upon certain Articles agreed
on by his Agent the Laird of Pluskartie.
Capt: Howard, who commanded his Highness Lifeguard,
is now in command of that Regiment formerly commanded
by Col. Rich, and he is gon to the Regiment.
It will not be long ere the Lord Lorns peace be concluded;
for his Father the Marquis of Argile is come hither
on purpose in. his behalf, and to give an account how far he
hath proceeded in the reducing him to his obedience.
Another Lord, the Lord Rea, hath sent also to Treat with
Col: Fitch about his peace. A safe-Conduct having been
