This following Petition was this week presented
at the dore of the Honse, thus entituled,
To the High Court of Parlament of the Common-wealth of
England, Scotland, and Inland, and the Dominions there
unto belonging.
The humble Petition of divers, in behalf of themselves, and
about fifteene hundred others (necessitous Public faith
lenders) inhabiting in and about London (whom lesse
then fifty thousand pounds will fully satisfie and) who
are altogether unable to double what they have lent.
Most humbly she weth,
THat your Petitioners did in the years 1640,
1641; 1642. 1643. 1644. &c, lend several
sums of money, &c. upon the credit
and faith of the Nation ( according to
the Propositions, &c. ) at the requests.
and arnest desires of the Parliament, in their greatest
necessities.
