Painfull-Messenger.
Affording true notice of all Affairs in great Brittain, Scotland,
Ireland, and other Forraigne parts; with the
most materiall, passages of the Parliament, Councell
State, and Army, to this whole Nation.
From Wednesday the 25. of July 1649: to Thurs. the 2 of August
THe true Christian studies God : The Polititian Man,
the statist new Fears of State, and the honest Common-wealths
man, the publick good only: The first and last
of all, (being truly advantagions to the Republique,
are most commonly comprehended in one and the same Man;
though to the Actors externall losse as too oft it so fall out : His
chiefe aym (next to his Creators Glory) being that he, or his Posterity
may reap the fruits thereof, And himselfe shall confidently
affirme this Position for truth,
That
Vertue is like Camomile, in him that's wise;
The more deprest, the higher will it rise.
