Intelligence, from Scotland, France, Denmarke, and Holland.
From Friday the 28. of Septem. to Saturday the 5. of Octob. 1649.

gate, and at the Royall Exchange in Cornhill, 1649.
Beginning Friday Septemb.28.
NEcessity is not ruled by Law, the force is so great;
through many dangers she finds out the way, but it
sufficeth not to the strength of armes, to have flesh,
bloud and bones, unless they have also sinews to
stretch out, or pull in, for defence of the body: So an
Army consisting of many men, and furnished with
warlike habillements, is but lame, and unserviceable,
if God give not a blessing upon their undertakings.

The many thousands raised by Ormond and Inchiquin
(so much boasted of by the malignant party) are in a dying condition, the loss
of Tredah being like to prove fatall to them; for hereby (to their sorrow is it spoken) a
free passage is open to the North of Ireland, good quarters obtained, and the main Body
of our Army marching towards the most fertile parts of that Country, the Roman Catholicks
of the Province of Wicklow brought to subjection, hath caus'd all things to be
very plentifull in Dublin, and more gold and silver seen, then in the raign of severall late
Kings, And least any one that shall read the Preface to this Book, shall take up a prejudicate
opinion, and think that we exceed the bounds of truth, I shall refer them to
these ensuing Letters, impartially communicating as followeth:
SIR, We sate down before Tredah, the last of Aug. with about 9000 Foot, & 5000
horse; the 5 of Sep. the enemy made a salley forth upon the West side of the Town,
