Pricking where seen, horizontal slits. Writing space of 245 x 125 mm. Single columns ruled for 44 lines. Frame ruled. |
One regular Anglicana Formata hand throughout with mixed features. Thick strokes
reminiscent of the Textura Precissa, which do not extend above and below the line of writing. The hand also displays a certain degree of sophistication as the first lines of folios are decorated with tall ascenders flourished with penwork. The same degree of sophistication is also shown in the otiose hairline often added to the end of short r, e, the tails of t and the abbreviations. Double compartment Anglicana a; rounded closed-lobe d with thick ascender in Textura style. Anglicana shape g with squarish head, the descender closes into a small lobe, finishing attached right to the head. There is a small tail on the right of the head. Short, thick descender with a tail on the top left side of p, rounded head with shaft starting past the top of the back stroke, finishing just past the meeting point with the descender; short r is used throughout both in medial and final position; s-shaped s used regularly in final position; long s used in medial and initial position, but the stem does not go below the level of writing; the stem of ş is slightly curved, the ascender has a small tail on the right, the shaft of the head starts past the stem and closes in an elongated loop half way on the descender. Open w with the first back stroke terminating with a precise oblique side, the second stroke develops with a B-shape form with an elongated thick ascender which stops at the same level of the first one; z-shaped ? used regularly. Body height: 2 mm.
|
Red paraphs; first letter of each line coloured red. Ascenders on top lines extended and coloured.
