Physical Description
Support: Parchment with suede-like texture.
Extent:350 mm x 240 mm
Collation: 16, 2-612, 712 (wants 3-5, after p. 136), 8-912, 108, 112 (2 pasted to backboard). Quire 7, leaves 8-10 have been mounted on narrow vellum strips (parts of the account roll also used for the flyleaves), and sewn in between pp. 140 and 147.
Layout:Double columns ruled in brown crayon for 55 lines. Frame ruled in ink.
Writing: One scribe writing in an Anglicana Formata script 'of a distinctly fourteenth-century style' (A. I. Doyle quoted by Hudson 1983, p. 83). Image printed in Gradon 1988, p. xxx.
Decoration:Foliate borders in blue, pink and gold with 5-line initial on a gold ground in purple, red and blue, eg. pp. 1 and 109. Four-line blue initials with red penwork. English Biblical quotations underlined in red, eg. p. 90.
Binding: White leather over wooden boards sewn with 5 cords. Evidence of clasps.
Foliation:pp. ii + 218. Paginated by Waterland.
