Bass singer. Carattoli served as "musico di camera" to Duke Francesco III d'Este in Modena and was active in Vienna from 1763. Leopold Mozart described him as among the excellent singers in imperial service and in 1768 would probably have taken the role of Don Cassandro in Mozart's La finta semplice K51 if that work had been performed in Vienna.
