Benedetti made his debut in Rome in 1764, was active in Munich from 1766-1769, and in 1770 sang the role of Sifare in Mozart's Mitridate, Re di Ponto K87; that season he also sang Sammete in Carlo Monza's La Nitteti (text by Metastasio). Thereafter he was chiefly active in London and St Petersburg; his final performance was in Brescia in 1792 when he sang the role of Arsace in Pasquale Anfossi's Zenobia di Palmira.
