The daughter of an innkeeper, Raab came to Salzburg to live with her cousin Granz Gottlieb Spöckner, a dancing master. She eventually came to own the so-called "Tanzmeisterhaus" in the Hannibalplatz (now the Makartplatz), where the Mozarts rented an apartment from 1773.
