Composer. Bonporti, a minor cleric at the Cathedral in Trent from 1697, may have been a pupil of Corelli in Rome, where he studied for the priesthood between 1691 and 1695; after a largely unsuccessful career, he moved to Padua in 1740. During the first half of the eighteenth century, Bonporti published eleven volumes of instrumental music. Leopold Mozart probably obtained a copy of his Inventions op. 10 while in Italy.
