Salzburg double bassist and music copyist. Estlinger was an almost exact contemporary of Leopold Mozart and they probably met during their time at the student days in the late 1730s. Estelinger was employed as a double bassist at court from 1760 and in 1780 he succeeded Maximilian Raab as first court music copyist. Estlinger was a close friend of the Mozarts and their preferred music copyist in Salzburg. Lit.: Eisen, `The Mozarts` Salzburg Copyists`, 259-265
