Composer. Little is known about Chiesa other than his appointment as maestro di cappella at Santa Maria della Scala, Milan, in 1762. In 1772 he played the second harpsichord at performances of Mozart's Mitridate K87. Although Leopold had apparently heard works by Chiesa including operas, arias and symphonies (letter 227), the bulk of his survivng music is for the church.
