Sismano nel Mogol by Giovanni PaisielloBorn: 1720 Died: 1775
Imperial count (Reichsgraf) and from 1750 counsellor to Archbishop Schrattenbach. Saurau, who had studied at the Salzburg University and in 1746 was made a canon, acted chiefly as the Archbishop's diplomatic representative with respect to the negotiation of currency conventions between Salzburg and Bavaria. A potential successor to Schrattenbach, Saurau's ill health ruled his candidacy. He was a friend and supporter of the Mozarts in Salzburg.
