We arrived safely in

Kurzweil, tomorrow morning we`re seeing Herr
Stockhammer, to whom we were given a letter of introduction by Herr
Ranftl.
22 Ranftl’s letter of recommendation does not survive[Close] This evening we`re going to see Herr
Antoni Gummer. I still don`t know whether we`ll be staying here for Christmas Day or whether we`ll be leaving tomorrow evening. For the present, I think it would be better if you wrote to me at
Roveredo, where I shall call at the post. I am in any case leaving instructions at all post offices, together with my name, which they already know, as I`m always turning up like a bad penny. We are keeping well, thank God. Here`s a page from the
Insprugg paper.
33 Here Leopold refers to a review of Mozart’s concert published in the Innsbrucker montägige Ordinari Zeitung for 18 December 1769:
On Friday, ie. the 14th inst., have arrived here at the White Cross Inn Herr Leopold Mozart, Kapellmeister to the Prince of Salzburg, with his son Herr Wolfgang Mozart, at this time actual concert master to His Serene Highness of Salzburg, who has already since his sixth year made himself famous for his extraordinary musical science, both at the highest Imperial court and in England, France, Holland and also throughout the entire Roman Empire.
Yesterday he was invited to a concert organized by the high nobility, at which he gave the most splendid proofs of his quite peculiar skill. This young musician, who is at present 13 years of age, has thus lent new luster to his fame here and by his extraordinary talents united the voices of all musical connoisseurs in his praise. Tomorrow he will continue his journey to Italy.
