The Harley, Glossop Rd, Sheffield S10 2HW
The Harley

The Harley opened in 2003 and is one of Sheffields best known late bars which puts on a huge variety of club nights and gigs. In the past five years they have moved toward more live music in the venue with The Harley Live, who also programme gigs at Queens Social Club and are influential in the city wide festival Tramlines as they programme many of the stages including the Main Stage, the New Music Stage and the Cathedral.

Sarah Nulty, who has worked for the Harley for ten years and run the bar for six is also Festival Director of Tramlines. She, along with the rest of the Harley team, have changed The Harley from a naff student led bar to a successful respected music venue. She remembers the concept for The Harley as it is now was born when the owner Dave Healy took the bar managers and the chef, all young and fresh from university, on a drunken weekend to Barcelona as a planning trip.

Kate Hewitt is the marketing and programming director for both The Harley Live and Tramlines and she was influential in moving the focus of The Harley's live music from small local bands on a Monday to booking a wide range of touring and international bands and moving to charging on the door to ensure that bands were paid for their services.
