The Grapes

The Grapes is a well known institution in the Sheffield music scene, it has been on Trippet Lane since 1821 as a traditional Irish Pub and a folk music venue. In the 2000s it became a key venue for up and coming bands in Sheffield with the 60 capacity upstairs room avalible to book by bands and promotors.

Nat Johnson saw it as a important place in her musical development as the friendly atmosphere, the supportive sound engineers, Brian and Ash, and the freedom to put on your own gig allowed bands to develop and experiment. Nat Johnson played the final gig at The Grapes on 27th November 2010 when they closed the upstairs room, however they still have live folk in the bar area.
