klædhishus (OSw) noun

Literally ‘cloth house’. All portable merchandise, not only cloth as suggested by the term, brought to town was to pass through the klædhishus where it an presumably the customs paid for it, was recorded by the tolskrivare (q.v.). Appears in lists of sources of income for the town.
