rættaraþing (OSw) noun

A þing ‘assembly’ held by the king or his proxy. According to OSw MEL, a kunungsræfst (q.v.) ‘king’s court’ where the king’s jurisdiction was executed, was to be held at the rættaraþing, unless the terms are synonyms. According to OSw KrL, a rættaraþing was held in each judicial district hæraþ (q.v.) and was summoned when the king wished, but a næmd (q.v.) ‘panel’ appointed by the hæraþshöfþingi (q.v.) ‘district principal’ decided in matters dealt with at this þing.
