vreþe (OSw) vrethe (ODan) raiþi (OGu) noun

Literally ‘wrath, anger, rage’. Used of unpremeditated deeds and accusations, such as a husband accusing his wife of adultery which he later retracts (OSw SmL), as well as of violent deeds, such as attacking a man at his home when he has laid down his spear (ODan SkL). Appearing in expressions such as mæþ vreþe (ODan) ‘in anger’; vreþe ok bræþe (OSw) ‘anger and haste’.
