stuþ (OSw) stuth (ODan) noun

Literally ‘support’. In JyL, the relatives’ contribution to compensation for murder. In ESjL, SkL and VSjL, an annual tax, presumably paid in grain by all landowning householders, replacing earlier contributions of food for the king’s travels (cf. gengærþ) or for his horses.
