lutfal (OSw) hlutfall (ON) lotfal (ODan) noun

In ODan and OIce, a procedure for distribution of land and inheritance, as well as a means of resolving disputes about property; property presumably aquired by drawing lots. In OSw, outlying land, a piece of land separated from the lands of the village, presumably acquired by drawing lots.
