hreppsfundr (ON) hreppfundr (ON) noun

A meeting of householders belonging to a commune (ON hreppr). It is thought that this refers to a special meeting of the members convened to deal with communal issues, such as determining who was responsible for maintaining a dependent. Might also refer to a guild meeting (ON gildisfundr).
