Examined saith that he was born in Harpley in the parish of Tudston within the County of Worcester and came to the City upon Monday the 15th of April being taken in bond by Sir Thomas Aston to appear at the Sessions, did appear accordingly and was discharged, and that yesterday was sevenight he this examinate met with Randle Thropp the younger and then entreated him to go with him to drink and the said Randle Thropp then said he would bring him to a good fellow and a cup of good drink and the said Thropp after he had drunk went his way and left this examinate there and in their drink fell brawling and he this examinate was committed to the Northgate where he hath remained ever since and saith he hath no other business… and more saith not.
Examined saith that he was born in Elsfield and came to this City on Sunday last was sevenight intending to go for Ireland and there to follow his trade and being at the Swan Hugh Taylor and 3 or 4 more came in and [in] their drink fell a brawling and he this examinate was hurted by the said Taylor, after that he had yielded up his weapons to the Constables, and was from thence brought to the Northgate where he remained till this day, and saith he will to Kingsley to his sister for some money, and to come back again to go for Ireland and more saith not.
