On the 26th of March in the forenoon he being at Mr Westall's cellar in All Saints' parish with Peter North and others, some discourse passed about North's head being broke by Mr Sherringham's maid, North replied he did take her by the private parts (which he spoke in a very lewd manner) but not till after his head was broken. And after some other very obscene expressions he swore he would not meddle with it any more for he did not like it.
On Friday the 23d. of March last about seven at night Peter North (who is an officer of excise) came to the house of Townshend Sherringham her master in St John at Timberhill, grocer, having been abroad drinking with her said master. And this informant being in the kitchen, North fell to kissing her and pulled her backwards in her chair and she begged of him to let her go and she ran to Mrs Hall's, a neighbour, and complained of North's rudeness to her. And then was sent for home and North fell to using her in the same rude manner, upon which she endeavoured to throw his wig on the fire. And then North swore D--n her, he would turn her up, and did take her petticoats up round her and exposed her nakedness, upon which she in her defence struck him with the fire shovel. And then he took her coats again and threw her on the ground… And that several times when North have come to survey the chandling office of Mr Sherringham (who is a tallow chandler), Mr Sherringham used to go out and drink together with North till he (North) was pretty much in drink before they weighed the candle, and mostly after they had weighed the candle also… And that North swore on Monday following if he had had his knife he would have done her job.
