Since leaving of work on the 15th day of August last he has been on the cross several times. And there was always Thomas Paine, Nicholas Cushion and one Jacob Steborne, Richard Gooch, Simon [Ring?], Henry Baily and one William Mortymer who were for the most part there at play at dice and farthings. And then Steborne and Paine importuned him to go and drink at one John Hopkins' cellar. And there he did go and drink several times, and while he was there they sent for Nicholas Cushion for he would treat them with drink as they said. And Cushion came and importuned him to go along with him to Stourbridge Fair, it would cost him nothing for he would maintain him and give him half of what he got, for he was an [artist?] at it for that he knew one that got one hundred and fifty guineas out of a man's breeches the last Stourbridge Fair before this. And he further saith that Nicholas Cushion would have incited him to go along with him to Stourbridge Fair and that Sarah Lovering is a whore that frequently follow after Cushion with several other as Jeffrys daughter. And that he has been told that Lovering is a whore and Jeffrys daughter also. And he further saith that he believe that Cushion do practice picking of men's and women's pockets… John Wilson further saith that about ten [word omitted] since he did see Nicholas Cushion pull out of his coat one Holland women's shifts with two long fringe neckcloths and showing of them to the rest the said linen, they asked him how he came by the said linen. And Nicholas Cushion said he trussed them which is stewaling as they have told him.
