Examined saith that upon Monday last this examinate came unto this City and did meet with an old blind man in Handbridge and 2 or 3 other poor men whereupon they went all together into Mathew Barker’s house to drink a pot of ale and continued there for the space of 2 hours or thereabouts, and upon Sunday last about one of the clock in the afternoon and got his lodging there at the house of one Gregory and about 8 of the clock in the morning of the Monday following this examinate came to this City and met with an old blind man, and went with him to the said Mathew Barker’s house, and drank with him 2 or 3 pots of ale, and as they were drinking there the constables came and apprehended this examinate whereupon he was committed, and denieth that he doth know anything concerning a… sheet supposed to be stolen.
Examined saith that upon Monday last about 8 of the clock did see the former examinate and the said blind man and 4 or 5 poor men with him in Handbridge… standing and talking together, and more saith not.
