That about a year ago, the month he now remembreth not, he this deponent Mr Pedd Mr Bostock one Joan his wife and John Woodward divers others were all at the Popinjay within the City of Norwich in one room of the house together where… there was question of a contract which was said should should have been passed between the said Robert Neave and the aforesaid Martha Pondage insomuch that he this deponent saw the said Robert release and discharge the said Martha, and… the said Robert of all promises or contracts of matrimony between them as by a writing whereunto they set their hands… unto which he now refuseth himself, not knowing now remembering the words that have passed between the said Robert, and Martha.
