About the middle of October 1729 she being a servant to John Baily petty chapman, Baily being engaged in play Mrs Baily gave this informant a silver snuff box, scissors, chain and a hoop for a pin cushion to keep lest her husband John Baily should lose them at play. And that about a week after the last Norwich Assizes she this informant was sent by Mr Baily with some plate to William Browne's in St John at Maddermarket to borrow money on the said plate. And that the silver snuff box now produced is the box she received from Mrs Baily near three years since and which was part of the plate she carried to William Browne's as aforesaid.
Between the 27th day of July and 5th August 1730 he had a silver snuff box feloniously taken away. And that a silver box found in the house of William Browne in St John of Maddermarket on Wednesday last being the 13th instant is the box taken from him as aforesaid being now produced.
About four years and a half since, he being a dealer in silverware and toys, bought a silver snuff box. And in a few days after he sold the said box to John Baily of Norwich, petty chapman. And that he verily believes the silver snuff now produced and challenged by Thomas Richards is the same box he sold to John Baily as aforesaid.
Who do severally make oath that they these informants being in the shop of Mr Holmes of Ipswich about four years and a half since along with John Baily and Martha his wife they then and there saw Mr Baily buy a silver snuff box of Mr Holmes. And that they these informants do believe a silver snuff box now produced being challenged by Thomas Richards is the same box they saw John Baily buy of Mr Holmes at the time and place aforesaid.
