Examined touching a mare that was lately stolen from him the 8th of this instant November as he this examinate allegeth… saith that upon the Monday morning after the said mare was missing he enquired in several places for the same, and understanding that one Thomas Burne now in York jail as this examinate also allege, and one William Daniel now prisoner in the jail of this City, they were the same night drinking at one Keyme’s house in Kirby... and that the master if the said burn, had a saddle and a bridle stolen the same night, caused this examinate to be suspicious of the said persons, and did then enquire after them, and then caused the said Burne upon his suspicion to be apprehended and put in the jail of York.
