Informeth and saith that upon the 26th day of May last past being the monthly fast she your informer coming from the Church met near unto the Church gates Edward Marler of Manchester bailiff who desired your informer to go with him and he would bestow half a dozen of beer upon her who denied him but she still followed after her she going towards Eccles to see her friends which when he had overtaken her he would have given unto your informer half a crown to go with him over the fields who still refusing got unto Pentleton Poll and durst not go any further towards Eccles but stayed there until one Thomas Pollett came and brought her thither for fear of meeting with the said Marler mistrusting that if she met with the said Marler he would misuse her.
Informeth and saith that Edward Marler of Manchester bailiff hath come three several times to the house of the said Francis Penn and in his absence would have forced this informer to violent fornication but when he could not obtain his desire that way he would have given your informer ten shillings desiring her consent thereunto.
