Serjeant Major Thorne Franck, having obtained letters Patents from his Majesty for making of Furnaces, for melting or smelting down all manner of Mettals out of their oares, whereby great quantityes of fuel and time may be saved; and likewise for setting up or new hanging all manner of boyling Furnaces [his? altered from this? blotted] way, whereby also extraordinary quantities of fuel and time may be dayly saved, especially by brewers, dyers, sopeboylers, saltmakers, saltpeter works, copperers works and all others using boyling furnaces, although their furnaces be made of any size or fashion whatsoever, as by divers Certificates under the hands of persons of honour and quality hath been presented unto his Majesty, with prohibition to all others of what qualitie or condition[altered from conditions?] soever, to use the same without his [licence? MS edge] first had under his hand and seal. He likewise amendeth all manner of Chimnyes that smoak, without pulling down the chimneys. If any be desirous to speak with the sayd Major Franck, they may finde him at the white swan in Newstreet betweene shoe lane and Fetter lane in goldsmiths building, every moonday, wendsday, friday from seven of the clock in the morning till eleven, and upon Tuesdays, thursdays and saturdayes at the 3 cranes on the back side of the royall exchange London from eleven of the clock till two in the afternoon
