     Though j bee altogether by face as yet unknown vnto you yet let it not seeme boldnes to present <tender> the [acknowledgement?] [word deleted] <of my [thankful?] <[lively?]> respects in a few lines for> the testimony of your generous affections (which j received from Sir Gilbert Gerard according your loving appoinment. I came of purpose to waite vpon you <presently> after j had received <the delivery of> your liberal fauor but had not the happines to see you at <that time> Since endevouring to come j [was?] hindered haue beene hindred partly by bodily infirmities and partly by other vrgent dispatches of a publick concernment. In the meane time <Sir> to giue you a true repræsentation of my affections and endeavors <thankfulnes and best observances> j bee pleased to accept, of these adjoined <[printed?]> Papers the summe of my principal Negotiations to which j haue [consecrated?] al my affaires <studies> and endeuors.
