                  Ad Cromw.
Most Honoured Sir
        j haue received the effect of the Note which you left with my [word deleted] <precious> and worthy friend Mr Sadler. <left margin: Sir> But when j consider[altered from conceive] how little j have deserued such an aspect from your hands truly j am somwhat confounded in myself not knowing what to say or doe in testimonie of <a suitable> Gratitude. But if you please to accept of sincere and ful affections devoted to your Service j shal strive to engage and <to> discharge them continually vpon all occasions <as now j engage them> in the presence of Him before whom wee can meete one another daily in Prayer, that Hee [would?] take notice and requite the Simplicity of your Love by the blessings of a special Providencie and Direction over You and in all your Ways and Enterprises as, that in that weighty charge committed to your Trust, your Integrity Prudencie Discretion Magnanimity and zealous behaviour may more and more shine forth to the Glory of God Your owne comfort and the welfare of these Kingdoms.
