          To the Kings most excellent Majestie
          The humble peticion of Iohn the most
             vnfortunate Bishopp of Lincolne
     Who casteth himselfe downe most humbly att youre Majestie's feet begginge withall possible importunitie your Majesty's grace and pittie towards him, vowinge in the presence of god and his holie Angells to spend the remainder of his life in regaininge your Majesty's Grace and favours by his most faithfull service and devout prayers to God for your Majestie your Queen and Royall yssue.
Imploringe your Majesty's Grace and goodnesse (the lively representation hereon earth of those Attributes of God above) to grant pittie to Your petitioner who cannot expect it in ordinary Rules of Iustice for further tyme to prepare his just defence to the Information against him consistinge of ten distinct charges.
Vnles your Majestie shall bee graciously pleased to take such other satisfaction from your petitioner as to change his imprisonment of the Tower which is during pleasure to a perpetuall imprisonment, of all the faculties of his Soule and Body to doe your Majesty's Commands.
And he shall ever pray to God for Your Majestie your Queen and happie Issue./
