The Consideration of the Poore Indian Souls (wholy to this day in Utter darkness, when we our selves have Glorius light, they worshiping the Devill himself[H alters from himselve] as a God, who is want to appeare to them in dreadfull manners) hath wrought some impresions of Compassion in our hearts to wards them and make vs[H alters from ?] send up our Groanes & sighes[H alters from sights] to the Father of Eternall[H alters from Etternall] Mercys, at last to move the Bowells of others of his Servants to joyne with vs[H alters from us] in this most charitable[H alters from chariable] Worke[H alters from worcke] of Lending an hand to reach them out of the mouth of hell and the very Iaws of the devill himselfe to the kingdome of our <H: deare> God and Lord Iesus Christ, & wee are the rather inuited[H alters from unsted?] hereunto of late by Considering

1 That soe many of their Princes with all their subjects are Come into the New England Goverment promising to submitt themselves therunto and Professing to desire to know <H: our good> God & bee subject unto his Lawes.
