[Deare freind? MS torn]
[words missing: MS torn] weeke hauing receiued yowr last large one wherin yow acknowledged the receipt of mine to the three Divines & acquainted me with the propositions tending to yowr preferment; I haue receiued, but could not answer it because I thought it necessarie to make a iourney to the Hague to speake to Mr Strickland before I should write unto yow: I must tell yow then that I spoke to him effectually & hee promised to write all that could bee desired; only because hee hadde not corresponded with yow hee said hee could not speake by his owne experience, but must ground himself upon the testimonie of others. therefore to satisfie him in this I spoke to Mr. Strezo & wrote to Mr Rulice that besides the testimonie which I gaue him, hee might receiue from them a larger testification of yowr good seruices done to the learned sort in these partes for the Cause & Parliament: I sent also by Mr Rulice Mr. Sadlers letter to Mr. Pell in the Matter of Vossius also I told him what I thought should bee done, of all which I make no doubt the account will bee giuen yow: Mrs. Moore is not at the Hague for hir health shee went out of it, but as soone as shee comes to it againe shee will bee foreward to doe all that can bee done to Mr. Strickland. I expect an Answer from yow upon that which I sent last by yow to Mr. Hinderson wherin a materiall ground of negotiation for Correspondencie is laid & a waye opened to deal with the Independents for to aduance Peace: now wee haue receiued no letters this weeke, because the packeth hath beene (as wee are informed) intercepted by the Kings fregat at sea taking it out of the packet boat. The thinges which yow mention were sent unto me heretofore by Taylor are lost, because hee was taken at sea & killed, & his shippe & goods are brought into Oestende; so that I haue not yet receiued the Coppies of my epistolary discourses; & am sorry for it: if the Print bee out I could wish that they might bee Reprinted;
yow see this inclosed which I was loath to burden yow [catchword: withall]

withall, but at the earnest [words missing: MS torn] who is now here, I could not [words missing: MS torn] to yow, & to intreat yow on his behalfe [words missing: MS torn] Sir Iohn Seaton without obliging him to pay the [p.....? MS torn] which the Lord sayes hee knowes hee will bee vnwilling [to? MS torn] doe, but hee will repaye it unto yow by mee, or yow may Charge him another waye with it. within this to Sir Iohn there is another of speciall Concernment for his Lordships affaires & therefore hee would intreat yow to haue it safely deliuered: I find yowr intimations which yow gaue me of my sister to bee true; which I could not haue imagined by the Generall hintes which yow gaue me; nor would I easily haue beleaued except I hadde thus found it as I doe, the Lord direct us all in the wayes of Peace Meekenes & Humilitie. I haue no tyme to enlarge beeing involued into a world of thoughts for priuat & public interests which can suffer no delaye, therefore I will commend yow to God & rest
