Louing & Deare freind
seeing wee can not suddenly dispatch this bearer for Oxford by reason of the absence of the Vice Chancelour to whom he is to bee addressed; & our freind Monsieur Schlezer stands in need as yesterday he told me, of one to helpe him to write, I offer to your Consideration whether it would not bee a double worke of Charitable accommodation to persuade your wife to let this young man haue his dyet with your seruants; till wee can some time the next weeke, when wee shall know of the Vice=Chancelour his arriuall bee able to send him away: I know Mr Schlezer will allow to your account, what his Dyet comes to, in the time of his stay: & I doubt not but in time his dues from his Master will come in, so that it is but the exercise of Patience which we are put to on all sides, euery one of us where God findes us most sensible that we may bee taught to liue aboue sense & depend upon him who in due time will haue respec to those that are faithfull unto the ende waiting for his Saluation; my wife is little [catchword: better nor]

better nor worse then she was; & in this Case I receiue none of my dues from my Creditors & scarse know what shift to make; but by pawning of some things which are lesse usefull to us: for I haue made use of my Credit alreddie two or three wayes to supply my occasions: if my Lord St. Iohns comes to towne I purpose to see him to morrow if God will: in the meane time I rest, & recommend you to the mercy of God; & my self to your prayers as being
