To the Honourable the House of Commons in Parliament assembled:
The humble Petition of Theodore Haak,
Sheweth, That when upon dangerous Emergencies to the publick Trade et Interest of this kingdome, in Anno 1643. Both Houses of Parliament sent Commissioners abroad unto the King of Denmark et other Princes et States, With ample Instructions for the vindicating of their Right et proceedings, redressing et securing of Free Trade, et other State-affaires; Your humble Petitioner was the first et principall, that was entrusted with, et underwent the Burden of that service; in a Time, et through the Encounter of as much Danger et Difficulty, as might have daunted any; yet, through Gods blessing upon his faithfull et indefatigable Endeavour, so discharged the Trust reposed in him, that the Parliament was readily acknowledged in all those parts, their Right et Proceedings publickly vindicated, Misunderstandings removed, Distempers calmed, Differences much abated, Free Trade forthwith recovered, et an honourable foundation laid in the Maine he was sent for; Which hitherto stood firme, et is made since more manifest by the successive improvements.
Now as in all this service Your humble Petitioner had no Aime, Interest, nor Inducement, but to serve God, et the good of this Kingdome, so he doth most humbly pray et hope, this Honourable House will be pleased, in Consideration of the premises, et the pressing occasions of your said Petitioner, arisen partly from that, et partly from an other publick employment since; to remember once et gratifie his ready, faithfull et self-neglecting performance of the Parliaments Command, With such a pledge et Testimonie of your favourable approbation et acceptance, as may both presently support, et further encourage him to lay out still his uttmost Endeavours, for so good a Cause et Parliament
And Your Petitioner shall ever pray [&c?]
